Canberra's first technology recycling company (service established year 2000) is committed to resource efficiency practices and environmentally friendly end of life solutions for obsolete computers and other office equipment. Lioncom Technology Recycling and Disposals is a service available to all residents, businesses, education institutions and government departments within the ACT and surrounding regions.

The Problem

Unwanted computers and electronic goods are one of the fastest-growing types of waste in the world (five times normal waste rates) and is likely to reach 40 million tonnes a year. It's estimated that Australian's in 2006 dumped 1.6 million computers in landfill, another 1.8 million where in storage (in addition to the 5.3 million already gathering dust in garages and other storage areas) and half a million recycled.

Unfortunately the 1.6 million computers added every year to landfill can cause chemicals and heavy metals to leech out into groundwater, posing serious health risks. It is imperative that we protect our local environment by ensuring all e-Waste is disposed off correctly.

The Solution

Lioncom offers two main solutions for managing the disposal of used and unwanted computer equipment. The recycling services provided are fast, affordable and are conducted in a safe and environmentally friendly way.

Recycling - Recycle used equipment that is end of life and has no reuse value. Equipment is dismantled and processed into recyclable resource streams.

Reuse - This solution allows for recovery of value from used equipment. Lioncom provides a competitive appraisal and payment for productive used equipment. Typically we do not pay for equipment that is more than 3 years old.

Both services are complimented on request with optional data destruction, transportation, flexible logistics and asset disposition report services.
